Terms of Engagement

How do we work?

As a leading provider of outsourced HR solutions we only employ experienced HR professionals and managers. Our aim is to provide a range of flexible and practical HR services specifically tailored to meet the needs of each company.

We aim to become extended members of your team and work in a flexible, efficient manner getting to know you and your business and meeting each and every need that you have.

Most of our main competitors use an impersonal call centre model to deliver a purely advisory service focused specifically around employment law and policy compliance. Our way of working is distinctly different:

  1. We offer a personal approach through a named HR Consultant who gets to know you and your organisation very well, which makes all the difference when it comes to HR.
  2. Our HR Consultants are experienced HR practitioners who can help you with practical and pragmatic HR solutions
  3. Our HR Consultants can visit you on-site at short notice to help you to find solutions to your people issues as well as provide advice over the telephone.

AD-HOC service to 'Pay As You Go'

We can act as your outsourced HR department with access to your own qualified HR Consultant as and when you need it either by telephone, e-mail or by site visits as required. Our fees are very competitive and are available on request. Fees are usually invoiced at the end of each month in which the work was undertaken.

Project work

You can engage us to work on a project basis by establishing costs in advance and the payments will be made in stages according to the project with an up-front fee due on commencement and the final stage payable when the project is signed off and completed. All our fees are very competitive and are available on request.

Annual retained Service

The annual service provides the company with its own outsourced HR consultant at a modest cost. As business demands vary from day to day there will be times when you use our service more frequently than others, this package is designed to enable you to take advice when you need it knowing that the costs are covered.

We can hold regular quarterly meetings with you to be pro-active in dealing with any potential issues that could escalate. Taking advice at the earliest opportunity is the most effective way to ensure that you avoid HR problems or costly tribunal claims.

We can tailor the support to meet the needs of your business as we understand that different types of business have different needs and that you will benefit from the personal touch and great customer service. Fees are based upon the size of the business and the number of employees and are usually invoiced quarterly from the commencement of the agreement.

In all cases there are no hidden costs and no lengthy tie-in times.

Fees

Schools can engage us for an annual retainer based upon the number of employees within the school or on an ad-hoc basis either per hour, per day or per project.

Changes to Teacher Appraisal & Capability Procedures 2012

Following a public consultation new arrangements for managing teacher performance have been announced. They will come into force on 1 September 2012.

New regulations on teacher appraisal will abolish the three hour limit on classroom observation and give schools more freedom to design appraisal policies that suit their own individual circumstances.

The new model policy provides an example of the sort of policy that schools might want to adopt when managing teacher performance. It is in two parts.

Part A covers the routine appraisal arrangements that apply to all teachers

Part B covers the capability procedures that apply only to teachers about whose performance there are serious concerns that the appraisal process has been unable to address.

Part B is consistent with the ACAS Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures.
